Captured live at the Young Vic Theatre, London in July 2012 and produced by Young Vic.

This three-act play by Henrik Ibsen takes place in the end of the 19th century and deals with that era’s marriage norms. It focuses on the social passivity assigned to women in a male-dominated society and on the subsequent awakening of the main character of the play, who is a wife and a mother.

“There is so much to admire in this marvelous production…terrific.” The Times

“A riveting production of Ibsen’s classic led by a vivid, moving performance from Hattie Morahan.” Financial Times
