Come one, come all and audition for Metamorphosis (or Letting Nature Take its Course) written and directed by our own Gary Bird.
The play is a farcical parody of Kafka's “The Metamorphosis” in which Gregor Samsa turns into a bug, reflecting his existential angst at life. It was performed as a playreading last season.
Now, Metamorphosis has been chosen to be presented as GEDS' entry at the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS) in Munich from Thursday 30 May to Sunday 2 June 2019 (Ascension weekend). The play will also be performed twice in Geneva, May 24-25.
You must be available for both the Geneva and the Munich performances to be eligible to be cast. The audition will consist of cold readings from the play with perhaps an improvisation of panic at the encounter of a giant bug. (Panicked screaming is a plus.) The cast consists of 7 characters (5m/2w or 4m/3w). The play is a farce so broad comedy skills are welcome.

GEDS encourages everyone to audition for its shows at all levels of experience. Our directors are looking for people who bring their own unique life experiences to the role. Mother tongue and nationality need not prevent you being cast; even age or gender can sometimes be flexible according to the needs of the play. GEDS serves a diverse international community and we aspire to reflect that richness in our activities and events.
