Truman Capote’s classic novella, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, has long been known for the highly stylized and iconic film. However, thanks to Richard Greenberg’s adaptation, a whole new audience has the chance to see the novella come to life on the stage, in an interpretation truer to the original.
This is the story of Holly Golightly, so famously portrayed by Audrey Hepburn, a Café Society girl-for-hire who charms and beguiles every man she meets in 1940s wartime New York.
Director Larry Wagner is looking for actors who can meet the challenge required by large characters. Actors who are interested in physical work, movement, comedy and dance are especially encouraged to audition. There will be choreographed movement and dance interspersed throughout. The stage adaptation will be slightly grittier than the film we all know and more faithful to Capote's novel.
A few additional logistical details:
- A read through with the whole cast is planned for Monday 10 September.
- Rehearsals will be held 3x per week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) as of 17 September.
- All cast must be available for rehearsals and for the weekend of 17- 18 November as well as for the dress rehearsal on Monday 19 November.
Please see the audition notes linked above for information on available roles.
If you cannot be at the auditions on 27 August and would like to request a private audition time, or if you would like a copy of the script or have other questions, please contact Larry by email or by Whatsapp messaging: (+41) 079 930 1421
